News: Explore Musical Creation on October 13th
The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra invites you to create something wildly unique with us on Sunday, October 13!
The LFCO will provide the kindling with compositions by Beethoven, Dvorak, Haydn and Milhaud. The fire created within you is yours to keep.
These premier composers share—sometimes across the centuries—their creative genius with us. Beethoven bequeaths his very first symphony. Haydn and Milhaud’s pieces dramatize the creation of our universe. Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, meantime, is interpreted by a performer early in her own creative process.
The LFCO is delighted to connect with concert-goers over these pieces inspired by creation themes. Perhaps our welcoming space - The John & Nancy Hughes Auditorium at Lake Forest’s Gorton Center - contributes to our success as a community orchestra. Or is it the community outreach we prioritize that fosters the magic? We support our community by donating our time to local organizations, and our community, audience, and orchestra members support us generously in return. Or perhaps the in-concert commentary and conducting skills of Maestro Christopher Ramaekers, our extremely talented yet imminently approachable conductor, create just the right vibe.
While we look and perform like a classical symphony, the experience truly is interactive. And that’s where the audience comes in. The creative geniuses who composed these works are all long gone, but each performance invites concert goers to let the sounds into their minds and become a creator in their own right. Where will this music take you? Where will it take the patron sitting next to you, or the musicians performing in front of you? The best thing of all is that we are creating together!
Let your creative genius come alive, and be sure to invite others to experience the moment with you!
